PrepChamps Elite Combines to Showcase Top High School Football Athletes Throughout the Nation

(PRWEB) May 1, 2007 -- PrepChamps, Inc. and Elite Combines LLC announced a strategic partnership today to showcase high school athletes to college coaches and scouts by launching a series of PrepChamps Elite Combines.

The efforts of the two companies, PrepChamps, Inc headquartered near Raleigh, NC, and Elite Combines, located near Nashville, TN, will be to conduct NFL style football combines for the best-of-the-best from high schools throughout the nation. At these events, regional high school athletes will perform a variety of core strength and agility drills, and will also compete in position-specific activities and scoring. All results will be recorded, certified, and made available to coaches and scouts looking for scholarship athletes.

"Our goal at PrepChamps in partnering with Elite Combines is to give athletes around the country the opportunity to showcase their skills to top-tier collegiate-level coaches and scouts," said PrepChamps CEO Dean Bundschu.

Athletes will participate in the 40-yard dash, 185-pound bench press, long jump, vertical leap, pro-agility and l-cone drills. Each player will be weighed and their height and reach measured. Nearly 600 participants from across the country are expected to attend.

Elite Combines, LLC brings extensive combine experience, having placed high school athletes into elite programs throughout the country. Founded by Kevin Fitzgerald, a former strength and conditioning coach for collegiate powerhouses like Florida State and Notre Dame, the combination of Elite Combines and PrepChamps will yield nothing less than a win-win situation for high school athletes.

"My son just received a letter from Princeton for an interest in football and academics," said one parent after their high school athlete attended a recent combine from Elite Combines, adding, "This is his 1st letter from a college interested in him playing football for them ... and he's only in 10th grade."

PrepChamps Elite Combines will host its first combine of the season Saturday June 9th in Greenville, SC, and then another on Saturday, June 16th in Southlake, TX, part of the greater Dallas metropolitan area. Other combine locations in 2007 include Columbus; Chattanooga and Nashville, TN; and Baltimore.

After each combine, the companies will produce individual combine videos for each athlete who will have a free player profile posted on www.PrepChamps.com with their combine video and highlight reel. This will allow all athletes, coaches and fans from around the country to view the videos at no charge.

Media outlets are invited and encouraged to attend these events. For athlete registration forms or more information contact Kevin Fitzgerald at (615) 497-1563. Companies interested in sponsoring and outreach opportunities to high school athletes and college coaches and scouts should call (800) 781-1816 x704.

College Football Betting And Nfl Betting Are Not The Same Thing
There are at least a half-dozen factors that separate college football betting from NFL betting. For starters, action on college football is much more likely to come from sophisticated bettors, known as "sharps" or "wiseguys", who often possess some insight or kernel of information that may provide them with an edge against the house. Experienced bet takers know not to treat heavy activity on an obscure game, such as East Carolina versus Wake Forest, as casually as they might deal with increased wagering interest on a marquee NFL game such as a Redskins-Cowboys confrontation. For that reason, bookmakers usually move college football betting lines quickly, often one full point at a time. In general, it takes more money to move an NFL betting...

The Basics Of American Football
Fundamentally, an American football team is composed of two entirely different elements, the defensive team and the offense, which strives to score touchdowns by entering the opposing team?s ?end zone?. This is worth 6 points that can be increased by after-scoring kick, which adds one point. An alternative way to score by kicking is by choosing to relinquish trying for a touch down and opting to kick a field goad, worth 3 points. The defensive team attempts to block scoring.

Fantasy Football: Quarterbacks
I have always felt that quarterbacks were undervalued in fantasy football. In most scoring formats, they put up more points than any other position (yes, including the vaunted running backs).

How Old Is Too Old To Play Pro Football?
There have only been just over 40 professional football players who have continued to play after reaching the age of 40. Football is one of the few sports where the players usually quit playing while they?re still in their 30s, and possibly even younger if they?re seriously injured. There are several reasons why these pro players retire so young. Since football is such a physical sport, it is quite normal for NFL players to attain some type of injury on a regular basis. These injuries vary in seriousness from simple bruises or sprains, to more serious injuries such as dislocations, breaks, etc. Some players simply tire of incurring these ?poundings? and choose to leave. The body can only take so much abuse, and it?s a fact that the older th...
