Frisco Thunder Football Storms into Last Home Game with $100,000 Field Goal Prize for Fans
Frisco, TX (PRWEB) July 20, 2007 -- One of the Intense Football League's (IFL) premiere teams, The Frisco Thunder, has carved out an amazing series of wins this season. Moving up to third place in the league with an 8-4 win/loss, the team has spent the last two months creating momentum to keep winning. This Saturday, July 21st, the Thunder hosts the Corpus Christi Hammerheads as well as a half-time event featuring a $100,000 field goal prize for one lucky football fan. EDS Credit Union is sponsoring the contest and hopes to award one ticket-holder with the cash prize at the Deja Blue Arena inside the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Frisco, Texas.
Fans aren't the only potential winners this weekend; the Thunder is also in the playoffs to take the top place in the IFL league. "This is our first season in the Intense Football League and we are so excited about being in 3rd place. And we are headed into the playoffs," said new owner Jake Reed. The thunder boasts also a dedicated head coach, Jon Loudermilk. Jon stated, "A combination of committed owners, staff, players and enthusiastic fans is the key to our first-rate team and a successful season."
The game begins at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, July 21, but early arrival is suggested. The first 1,000 fans will receive Thundersticks from EDS Credit Union and the first 500 adult fans will receive official Frisco Thunder checkbook covers.
The participant for the $100,000 field goal contest will be randomly drawn at halftime from all ticket holders present. If the selected fan's kick is good, that lucky fan will receive $100,000. But contestants must be present before the end of the first quarter in order to enter the drawing.
The halftime event will also feature the Frisco Thunder Dance Team, a Hoola-Hoop contest for kids, races between the EDS Credit Union's mascot Chip and the Frisco Thunder Cat. Prizes will be given to both kids and fans in winning sections sponsored by EDS Credit Union & Chip's Club Kids Accounts, Toys-R-Us, and Sheridan's Frozen Custard.
Tickets for the July 21 game against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads are available at all EDS Credit Union branches in Plano and Frisco.
