The North American Football League Announced Today it will Begin its 9th Annual Playoffs on October 6th
(PRWEB) October 5, 2007 -- Defending Champions Dallas Diesel, will receive a bye in their first round as will the Defending NAFL2 Champions the Austin Gamebreakers. Other teams entered into the top spot of their brackets are the past champions Central Penn Piranha and the Boston Panthers in the East Conference; the Pittsburgh Colts and the St. Louis Bulldogs in the North; the Asheville Grizzlies and the Port City Monarchs in the South; and the Dallas Diesel and the King County Jaguars in the West.
Former NAFL Champions the Kane County Eagles found themselves in the playoffs at a 5 seed and will play their first round versus their rivals the Racine Raiders at Historic Horlick Field.
Other teams of note in the Playoffs are the Albany Metro Mallers and the South Jersey Lynx in the East, the upstart Georgia Generals and the 2006 runner-up the Nashville Storm from the South, new additions to the NAFL in California, the SoCal Steelers and the Northbay Rattlers from the rapidly expanding West Conference, and the Dakota Lawdawgs and the Ohio Red Bulls from the North Conference. This field of teams makes up the strongest and deepest tournament of its kind at any level and will serve to determine a true national champion. The championship game will be played on November 10 2007 in Las Vegas.
