As the New England Football Squad Are Discovering, Coaching is About to Grow Up -- According to Steve Errey

London, UK (Bluehost) February 12, 2008 -- Taking a leaf from new England Coach Fabio Capello's book, Steve Errey -- a leading confidence coach in the UK -- is talking about the need for the coaching industry to grow up and face the issues that are holding it back, or run the risk that it will only ever deliver just a fraction of its promise.

The core of the problem is that traditional coaching is based on the principle that a coachee needs to find their own answers and that the coach shouldn't direct things. What that boils down to is that it's nearly impossible for a client to understand what they're purchasing, and that means that coaching remains a niche service despite its huge potential. Coaching 2.0 is about giving the client the benefits they're looking for and providing solid expertise to solve their problem; it's about giving them real value for money.

Christian Mickelson, a successful business coach in the USA, agrees with Steve. "If a client is going to pay you hundreds or even thousands of dollars every month, they want to know what they are going to get for their money. And what they are buying is speed (they want to go faster), and certainty (they want to know that they are going to get there)."

Fabio Capello isn't going to leave the England team to their own devices and he's made it clear that he isn't scared of directing things his way or using his own expertise to lead the team to real success.
