Play Analyzer Turns Football Coaching and Programs Into Winners - Without the Technological Hurdles

(PRWEB) May 6, 2008 -- Football coaching success for high schools and colleges have one mandate: win games.

As part of a coach's preparation, he and his team will spend hours studying game footage of their opponents. But the last thing a coach wants to deal with, is the technological jungle of video editing. Navigating the forward and rewind functions, or DVD, can pose a challenge when finding the right play, player or formation. When coaching football, the priority is teaching and improving the execution and technique of players. Not working the equipment.

IRIS Technologies, manufacturers of the Landro play analyzer, works without any editing and is easy to navigate. It's as easy as using a TiVo? system to record your favorite TV programs. Access to game or practice footage is available anytime, anywhere, and by anyone. IRIS Technologies has reintroduced the product's cost and availability to high school and university football coaching (www.landro.com) programs. The system is now offered at an annual subscription rate of less than a thousand dollars, instead of a flat rate that could cost a program up to $5,000.

High school football coach, Kevin Pettis, already knows how effective the Landro Play Analyzer is. The year before he took over coaching football at a high school in Orlando, the varsity squad had suffered a 0-10 season. In the second year, the team won 10 games. Pettis had done the same thing in Georgia, and transformed a 0-10 pushover into a 30-game winning streak.

"It's the single most important piece of equipment we have in our program - outside of the players," says Pettis.

The analyzer not only saves time for coaches who must organize and strategize, it also improves the lives of the athletes. Footage homework assigned to team members can cut into family and homework time. Now a website link and a list of plays is all it takes.

"On Monday I put together a quick highlight tape of Friday's game and send it out by email to boosters, coaches, booster parents, and colleges," says Pettis. "Everybody wants to see the highlights, but who has time to sit through a three-hour tape? It really helps colleges recruit our players. I have college coaches say nobody does it like we do."

Bradshaw Mountain High School football team in Arizona had won championships in the past. When they stepped up to a new division, they failed to make the play-offs for 10 years. Three years ago coach Chuck Apap came to town. Since then, the Bears have made the play-offs each year, won the regional championship, and were runner-ups for the trophy the following year. Luck wasn't the reason, as Apap enjoyed similar success at his previous job in Walled Lake, Michigan. "I had booster parents who understood the value of an effective football coaching (www.landro.com) system," explained Apap. "It's very easy to use?. When we play an opponent I can tell you the number one passing and running plays they like to run. I can organize by plays, formations, and print out all the plays they can run in that formation. The nice part is I can make copies of their plays so my players can study them,"

Apap is proud of his teams' trophies, win-loss ratios, and academic achievements. One student-athlete who set a record kicking field goal won a $45,000 scholarship to an excellent college quarterbacked by an athlete Apap coached in Michigan. "We were able to hook him up with that school after they looked at his tape. It used to take 12 hours to make a highlights video. Now organizing all the plays during the season saves lots of time. Besides making us better coaches, it will definitely help your son - if he has the ability - to play college football."

What is the reaction among the football coaching (www.landro.com) ranks to the new price? Apap says, "the system was easy to sell to parents and boosters after they saw the benefits their kids would enjoy?. You've got to get people to believe in what you do. This system makes that so easy."
